FEATURE LIST (so far)


Menus & Core Systems

  • Basic menus + save & load system - Options menu differences and "world levels" display.

  • Additional basics for tutorials / lore PDA menus (etc)

  • Warehouse menus – Blackmarket / Depot (Contracts WIP) and their merchants and shops (main game loop / Part 1)

  • Player cabin access in the warehouse / depot

Character & Player Customization

  • Character creator and customization

  • Player weapons upgrades from cabin (either traditional upgrades or using power cell items)

  • Player cabin interactions:

    • Chance to meet Evi when sleeping in the cabin

    • Dialogue and joining her cause (basics)

    • Progress tracking through worship points (maxing points unlocks special escort drones)

    • Can unlock shrine in cabin.

    • Using Power cells from cabin

    • Can obtain one of Evi's lanterns in the cabin

    • Can unlock ability to reap souls from living enemies killed at some point and the Soul Gem in the cabin (displays the current amount of souls when clicked)

Core Gameplay Loop & Progression

  • Game intro (can skip) and its relevant characters and events

  • Launch standard and cargo runs and return to a warehouse (main game loop / Part 2) - Finished cargo runs as well as buying and filling logistics containers and finishing a run gives rewards.)

    • Warehouse is playable through menus while action happens in real time during a run

    • Environment during runs always has randomized decorations/elements

  • Move between in-game cities (distances coherent, player location persistent) - Can select a destination in the"Departure" run launch in the Depot (warehouse)

  • Items, currencies, economy, and basics of the inventory system

Combat & Enemies

  • Player weapons and aim (hold right mouse button to aim, left mouse button to shoot)

  • Turrets, bullets, enemies, and combat basics (Performance updates V2) - So far only IMPERIAL and FLYING enemies. TO DO: pirates & Mars mercenaries enemies flying and grounded + Grounded imperial enemies

  • Imperial delivery drone enemy and rare item drops

  • World level as difficulty increase. (increases by finishing runs or using Imperial Eclipsers to lower your bounty.)

  • Escort drones for Pathfinder (repair / escort / ghost drones) and escort mercenaries

Train & Vehicle Systems

  • Train building, customizing, upgrading & wagon slots

  • Locomotive customization

  • Train cart weaponry, tail cart vault, and artillery system

  • Radio system and most of the OST  (can be turned on and off from the left pannel during a run)
  • Vortex Drive system (can be turned on and off from the left pannel during a run) + water resource + water pump "merchant" 
  • Basic power and fuel system:
    • Use batteries and fuel cans from the left panel during a run to maintain train operations
    • Power levels affect train systems and mobility
  • Crew member system:

    • Buying contracts for unique crew members

    • Crew members can act as additional turrets on train carts

Special Systems & Features

  • Player "Infamy" levels and points (gained by finishing runs)

  • Blockgrid system (bank)

  • Power cells items and upgrading the Pathfinder's power level from the player cabin

Working on right now:

  • Enemies will have shields, armor or shields and armor on top of HP now. Both types absorb damage differently.
  • More enemies (+1)
  • Crew members can now act as turrets from the carts you own.
  • Crew members now matter when producing items from room slots in the train carts you own. More crew members means more items.
  • "Big Players' screen now working. End game contributions to groups that can help fight the Empire. Will be important for the game's ending. Includes being able to give money and dialogue when the contribution maxes out.
  • Added some stuff to the PDA
  • Started implementing pseudo "survival" stats like hunger, thirst and health. Will act more as debuffs rather that hard limits with heavy consequences. Stats system will involve item consumption and math based on your crew members amount.
